Glass Kilns – Designed for techniques such as fusing, casting, annealing, lampworking, vitrigraph work, and glass painting.
Fiber-Body & Crucible Kilns: We also offer fiber-body glass kilns for rapid heating and cooling in fast-paced studios, as well as crucible kilns for melting and casting metals and glass at high temperatures.
Dual-Media Kilns – Our Ceram-a-Glass kilns allow artists to work with both ceramics and glass in one versatile system, ideal for multi-medium creators.
Knife Kilns – Our Vertical Air Bath (VAB) knife kilns, also known as heat-treat ovens, are designed to precisely control heating and cooling to enhance the hardness, ductility, and strength of metals—essential for knife-making and industrial metalwork. How do I find the right kiln for my specific needs?
We recommend starting by filling out our KilnFinder Questionnaire. If you prefer, you can give us a call at (863) 648-0585 during business hours (Tuesday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM EST).
Our knowledgeable kiln techs will answer your questions and gather key details, including:

- The size and layout of your kiln space to determine which models will fit.
- Power requirements for different kiln types.
Based on your input, we'll provide expert suggestions tailored to your needs and walk you through the ordering process.
If you decide to proceed, we’ll supply a kiln/shipping quote, an estimated timeline, and everything you need to get firing!
What is the price range for your kilns?
Jen-Ken Kilns are typically priced between $1,170 and $6,000 (USD), depending on the model and its default features, such as controllers.
Additional features and controller upgrades may affect the final price and can be selected during the product customization process on the "Add to Cart" page.
Why are kilns expensive?
At Jen-Ken Kilns, each kiln is custom-built to order, ensuring a tailored solution for every customer. The cost of kilns reflects the specialized materials, craftsmanship, and advanced technology involved in their creation.
Here are some key factors that contribute to kiln pricing:
Size & Capacity: Larger kilns that can handle bigger or multiple pieces require more materials and construction, making them more costly.
Temperature Range: High-temperature kilns, like those used for ceramics and metalwork, demand robust construction and specialized materials, increasing their price.
Materials: Built from heat-resistant refractory materials, kilns are designed to endure extreme temperatures without compromising durability, which adds to their cost.
Heating Elements: High-quality heating components ensure consistent performance and longevity, but they also raise the overall price.
Temperature Control Systems: Accurate firing depends on advanced controllers and sensors, which are crucial for reliable results and add to the investment.
Power Requirements: Large or high-temperature kilns often need specific electrical setups, which can result in additional costs for installation.
Shipping Costs: Due to their size and weight, most kilns are shipped via motor freight, which can result in significant shipping expenses. Please note that shipping costs are not included in the kiln's base price.
Type of Kiln: The construction and material requirements for different kiln types—such as those for pottery, glass, or metal—affect their cost.
Accessories & Furniture: All additional items—such as kiln furniture (posts, shelves), stands, relay and controller upgrades, and other tools—are optional enhancements that can be selected based on your specific needs and preferences. These upgrades can contribute to the overall cost depending on what you choose.
What electrical requirements does my kiln need?
Kilns vary in their electrical requirements, and in some cases, you may need to hire an electrician to adjust your studio's power setup to match the kiln's needs—such as upgrading from 120V to 240V.
Each kiln’s product page provides detailed power specifications, including:
- Voltage (V)
- Amperage (A)
- Wattage (W)
- Receptacle
- Breaker
- Circuit Wire Gauge
